Behind the scene entitled "Séance" from the movie "Shadow Beings". This is the "third" rehearsal in the sense that this is the third and final Kat (Heather, in the center) for the movie.I won't give too much away... watch the movie.
I had shot from different angles as they went through the script in order to get a rough edit to see if it would work out. However, I forgot at least one angle that day. We also didn't rehearse, or rather I didn't direct, the fact that amorphous creatures were supposed to swim about in the air, and I needed the actors to react to them. They did react a bit, but always upward after I distinctly told them the creatures would be all over. Sooo, they looked up the whole shoot thus the vortex above them in the movie. That wasn't exactly what I had originally envisioned.
The Séance scene didn't turn out except for the acting. We rehearsed so the acting was okay. We poorly lit the bluescreen and the actors so the keying sucked. I've learned my lessons. then again I wasn't supposed to be the lighting guy, but Kurt wasn't allowed to touch the equipment (he wasn't a member of the media center).
Sadly, some of the better shots were in the rehearsal and not the final production. That sucks, because Heather did a fine job in the rehearsals, but I didn't capture her in production the way I should have. Sorry, Heather. I'll do better next time. :)
