Seance Rehearsal
If you like this type of thing, please enjoy the behind the scenes clips that have presented here. They are from my first movie "Shadow Beings". A labor of love some say. An experiment I say.
Most of our shoots were only 4 hours per scene. This was how I got my cast to show up. Even when the crew was in the studio (bluescreen shots) for 8 hours, the cast was only there for 4 maybe 5 hours. The project had no money and it was rushed. I think it turned out pretty good with all the pitfalls during production.
The next one will be much better.

The compositing and effects section shows how I created the shadow play from the title credits, the peephole from the end sequence and a side-by-side comparison of the "Nexus" bluescreen shoot and its final cut. The peephole is one of my favorites because no one notices it's an effects shot when they watch the movie. There is one other effect, actually in two shots, that no one mentions either. I will not disclose that until someone spots it.

The Enlightenment scene was my nightmare scene. It seemed simple enough however we couldn't get any rehearsals in and I really needed two more days at this location. You may notice the way I was shooting, having the actors say all their lines per camera angle instead of going through the lines of all the actors. It is obvious in the final cut that this technique didn't work. I shot this way thinking it would save time, yet I still needed two more shoots. The fight sequence (not shown) was terrible. Sorry to those who have seen it.

The Coffee Cup Anamoly (and its Deja Vu) was shot on an eight hour day. This is the longest shoot we ever had and I think some of our best sequences came from this session.
